Our Goal: Wipe out Alzheimer's by 2025
None of us want to see our children or grandchildren - or anyone else’s - deal with the awful disease that we faced with our mom. And of course, we don’t want to get this disease ourselves! It is the only leading cause of death in the U.S. with no cure, no treatment and no prevention.
What we're doing to help
Of the money we raise, the majority (78%) is put toward Alzheimer’s care, support, research, awareness and advocacy. The remaining portion goes toward fundraising and administrative work.
In addition to our own fundraising efforts, we involve ourselves with this effort in a number of ways:
Mark and Eva have been involved with the Twin Cities Walk Executive planning committee for the last 4 years: The 2018 Walk was the #1 Walk event in the country, raising over $1.6MM!!!
Leah and Eva continue to represent the Alzheimer’s Association MN-ND Chapter at the annual advocacy forum in Washington, D.C., influencing change with our Minnesota delegates (senatorial and congressional). Bert is joining them in DC this year!
We attend various fundraising events throughout the year, including the annual Gala held in May and the Strike out Alzheimer’s Twins game, each year for the past six years, and Eva hosts an annual Longest Day event at her home as well.
